UPB Holding – one of the leading industrial holdings in Latvia with a strong team of engineers – is among the supporting companies.
“A significant role in the development of UPB play the engineers, who develop new solutions and increase their capacity meeting the requirements of new markets and conditions This allows UPB creating an even greater added value to the end products. To help creating the same effect in all Latvian manufacturing industries we will support the Secondary School of Engineering Sciences of RTU to motivate and inform youth of the importance and capabilities of engineers,” according to Dainis Berzins, chairman of the UPB board.
In addition to qualitative and competitive free education the UPB contributes with a direct support to future experts. During the first year of operation of the School there will be granted 5 monthly scholarships to the best SSES 10th Grade students. UPB will hold also guest lectures and excursions to the company productions plants for the future engineers so that already during the secondary school the adolescents would get an insight into the future possibilities of the industry.
“Involvement of AS “UPB” in the RTU SSES campaign is a significant support to the school and the students who have chosen to link their future with engineering sciences. We are also very happy that AS “UPB” has decided to support the school within its campaign „An engineer starts with a lemon“ demonstrating this project is important not only for the University, but for the society in general, along with the leading companies of the industry,” according to Arturs Zeps, deputy dean in development of RTU.
